Sunflowers are Eye Catching!

Updated: Oct 16, 2024

As I was driving through Leigh Valley Pennsylvania, my eyes were caught and amazed by a sunflower field! A break from the normal view of tall, green cornfield stalks, there they were. A bright yellow sea of flowers. I was so taken I couldn’t get enough of them. Driving by so fast, I decided I would turn around to get a closer look.

I wished I could have stood there all day and watched the bees as they came back and forth to gather their needed pollen. This healthy crop of sunflowers has inspired me. I took as many pictures as I could to share because it’s not an everyday experience!

Studies link the consumption of sunflower seeds to a number of health benefits, including lowering your risk of developing diseases like high blood pressure or heart disease. They also contain nutrients that can support your immune system and boost your energy levels. Sunflower seeds contain vitamin E, flavonoids, and other plant compounds that can reduce inflammation. They are rich in ‘healthy’ fats, including polyunsaturated fat and monounsaturated fat.

As I was admiring the sunflower field I noticed these, sight for sore eyes, flowers were facing the sun!

All of them with their “heads” turned facing the sun! I didn’t want to leave this gathering of Gods gift to us. So with gratefulness, I drove away planning my own future sunflower field. What an inspiration!

If anyone has advice about ways to grow a flourishing sunflower field like this, please leave it below for our readers.
